Criminals are taking hacking to the next level. Instead of spending the time and money to set up hacking centres of their own, blackmarket organisations are now networking to come up with ways of actually sharing, or renting their services to other criminals. "Crimeware as a service" is growing in popularity because it's becoming so easy for criminals to use cybercrime services run by someone else, simply for a rental fee. Obviously the effects on the average web surfer could be catastrophic. PCs surfing the net with no, or out of date, internet security are high risk targets, which might potentially costs victims thousands of dollars and hours of time. One of the biggest threats facing web users is identity theft, where hackers spend time developing a profile of a person, and then taking out credit cards or loans in that person's name, leaving them heavily indebted for debts accrued by the hackers.
