The boffins who analyse the internet security market have predicted the worldwide market for anti-virus will continue to grow at about 10% for the next 6 years. Obviously the implications for consumers are broad. To begin with it is safe to say the growth of the market will continue because the number of viruses, malicious software programs and the rate of hacking will all continue to grow exponentially. Also, consumers are beginning to be a lot more conscious of the dangers of not having internet security installed on PCs. Identity theft through phishing scams, and the press such scams generate are helping the public awareness campaign of the internet security market growth. It is predicted that a move away from traditional retail stores to online vendors will also help the sales because the internet stores are convenient, easy and offer an immediate solution for the consumer.
