Apple's Safari Browser needs a security upgrade
23, July 2008
For many years the world has watched as hackers and virus writers have concocted recipes to attack Windows based PCs. Time and again thousands of computers were infected with viruses. These days the trend is towards malware and phishing, but most of the attacks still focus on the PC.
All the while the good people at Apple (and Apple PC users themselves) sit back and think "we have Apples so we're immune."
Well, hate to break it to you, but that just aint true.
Apple's Safari browser has one enormouse security flaw that just doesn't exist with other modern browsers any more. Safari will automatically allow software to download onto your computer, and that basically means there's no intervention for spyware and malicious content to be downloaded.
This is a serious problem and one rectifed by other browsers years ago. Apple needs to plug this problem, and fast.
